Situated close to Puerto de Santiago on the west coast of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Los Gigantes is so called because of the precipitous cliffs which are found nearby.

Named after the steep cliffs which reach a height of 800 metres, Los Gigantes ("The Cliffs of the Giants") is a popular holiday destination, which attracts visitors throughout the year, due to its fine climate and good range of facilties.
Los Gigantes Beaches: Los Gigantes has a small sandy beach which can get rather crowded during the busiest months. Another nearby beach which you could try is Playa de la Arena, which is a much nicer beach with 'Blue Flag' status.
Los Gigantes Hotels: There are a good choice of hotels in Los Gigantes, some of the best known are: The Poblado Marinero Los Gigantes, the Vigilia Park Apartments, the Hotel Barcelo Santiago Los Gigantes, and the Lagos de Cesar Hotel Los Gigantes.
Los Gigantes Weather: While the typical climate for Tenerife is hot and dry, the weather in Los Gigantes and the western resorts can be a little cooler and wetter than the southern resorts such as Playa de las Americas.
